I wasted a lot of time searching for this same spot on Google but gave up.  Last night David came out with his old Street Atlas of Surrey and ...  I found it!

David gave me the A to Z on the 10th June 1968, on our honeymoon in London :-)
The Surrey Street Atlas we bought when we returned in 1977 and David set up a Washing Machine Repair business, he needed to know 'all' the streets around Surrey.

St Martha's on-the-Hill is on the Pilgrims Way, a beautiful walk on a beautiful day

Dear Dudu,
      
     Isn't it lovely, we went to South Cadbury in Somerset a couple of weekends ago to see the excavations being done where King Arthur had his Camelot.  Typically English, it was closed but we could walk around it and it was very interesting. We stopped on our way and saw Salisbury, we'd been through a couple of times but never spent time to poke around the Cathedral and the old river and lovely little old streets.

     It was lovely to speak to you last week, hope all is well

     This is the centre of the Village we are in, our road leads off right.  The weather is very good - today esoecially yesterday we spent in Hastings, where we had our honeymoon, going round the old places.

     Hope you are both well, see you soon.  We will be home at the weekend.

London - Buying Tabitha Taxi #3 - September 1969

 Charing Cross Underground Station and we're off to find another Taxi, Tabitha 3.

Tabitha 2. hadn't done too well and Tabitha 1. has... gone... we have been racking our brains and have no idea how we disposed our Taxi's, I guess we've erased that sad decision from our minds.

 LOL  6 pence... eeekkk I've just looked at London Transport and found this...

(The cost of using The Tube depends on which zone you start in and how many zones you need to cross. Fares vary from £4 for an adult single trip within Zone 1 -2 (which is where all the tourist attractions are), to £3.80 for an adult single trip between Zone 1 and Zone 6.)

But don' t cancel your trip you can always get an Oyster Card like we have.

(Oyster cards offer the best value for travelling. A single journey on the Tube in Zone 1 is £1.50 and £2.00 in Zone 2, when using a prepaid Oyster card. The same journey using cash is £4.)

Dear Dave and Pennie,

     Thanks so much for the Telegram, hope I do my Apprenticeship alright.  (Christine was Immigrating to Australia with her fiancee, they broke up before they arrived and Christine went home to the UK after a few years in Australia.)
 
     Have been living it up on the Ship.  Plenty of things to do.  I shall need to rest when I reach Australia.  Seen Las Palmas, now in Cape Town, then Durbin, last stop before Fremantle.

England - Wiltshire-Somerset - September 1969

 Leaving Salisbury over this bridge across the  River Avon.  The inscription says, 'Built in 1245 by Bishop Bingham - Widened in 1774'  It took me absolutely ages to find this bridge on Google, have you any idea how the River Avon winds it's way through Salisbury...very pretty and a lot of little bridges.

I noticed, on Google Maps,  a bridge further up steam, which is called New Bridge by the way!  and took a shot from there so we can see the lovely single lane bridge built by Bishop Bingham.

 I have spent far too much time looking for this same spot above, it was taken on the A303 but that is now almost Motorway size and I just couldn't find this house or this sign but I did find one below.

 This Thatched Post Office on the other hand was a breeze to find, it leads to the Excavation site of Camelot Castle... same little cottage but no longer a Post Office methinks.

This hill Castle is thought to have been King Arthur's Camelot.  Excavations were still going on when we visited.

The excavations at Cadbury Castle in the 1960's uncovered evidence of a long occupation, beginning in 3000 BC and running through to 1000 AD. Occupation was spasmodic, with the fort being unoccupied for long periods. The major periods of construction were the Neolithic era, Late Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, Post-Roman, and Late Saxon.
