Salzburg - Austria - 18.4.1970

On the Autoban from Wien to Linz to Salzburg.

 Near Linz.

 Mozart's Birthplace.
Baroque Cathedral, 1613. Dom Platz.   We here we both went to the Loo but David took forever and ever, I was getting quite nervous because he can take a long time in the Loo this was a bit too long.  He came out grinning from ear to ear, the Attendant of the Gents Loo was playing the Zither, no such luck in the Ladies Loo though.

Taken from the top of the Fortress Festung Hohen-Salzburg, Salzburg Cathedral and the River Salzach.

Snow topped mountains to the left of the last photo.

 The 'Berg' and tunnel.

Vienna to Salzburg.

Vienna - Austria - 15.4.1970

We met up with Sheila and Louis by accident, they just drove into the Vienna City campsite an hour or two after us.  David took this photo of us being highly amused by the chap off to the showers in his stripped robe.

A Double Decker bus in the middle of Vienna just for David.

It was fascinating watching a practice session at the Spanish Riding School, having lived on a Sheep Station in Australia where riding horses was a means of getting from point A to point B rounding up sheep as you went... to see these beautiful animals doing their routines ... was indeed different.

This photo got caught by the light but I had to put it in because of that lovely little Morris Minor Woody in the middle of the photo, I had one of these when we lived in England in the late 1970's and I loved her.

Budapest to Vienna - 14.4.1970

So we hurried out of Hungary, so as not to get into trouble by overstaying our 48 hours, and into Austria but were held up and given the third degree at the Hungary - Austrian border.

David inspecting one of Siegfried Marcus (1831-1898) autos in the Techisches Museum, on Meiriahilfer Strasse. This is the Marcus Waggen built in 1888/9.

Below a better photo of this amazing vehicle.

Aaaahhh... more trams, this time On the Rings Poernring/Kartner ring.

Tabitha Taxi in Vienna, on left of this photo and below, the Underground Railway is under construction

David has written - O.K. Restaurant, 61 Kartnerstrasse.  I wonder if it is still there?  Google Maps won't let me go in and see for myself unfortunately, since we went into Yugoslavia we haven't been able to find the same places as our photos, there are other peoples photos on Google Maps but not the streets.
From Budapest to Vienna.
